The Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, is the largest trial court in the United States, serving over 10 million residents at 36 courthouses in a 4,084 mile area that includes 88 cities, 140 unincorporated areas, and more than 90 law enforcement agencies.
The Superior Court of Los Angeles County has more than 550 judicial officers, over 4,800 employees, and a budget of over $1 billion. Approximately 1.2 million cases are filed per year for all case types, including criminal, civil, family law, juvenile dependency and delinquency, probate, mental health and traffic.
