How We Support Labs to Innovate and Scale

When we make an investment in a research team, what does that mean? It means committing both funding and support to a collaborative team of researchers and partners as they jointly frame problems and develop learning agendas, test and iterate on intervention strategies, and pursue ambitious goals of achieving positive impact at scale.

As a funder uniquely positioned within the university, Stanford Impact Labs believes in three key tenets to activate the role of social science research for impact:

building partnerships that uplift and incorporate different types of expertise
a mindset to iterate on pathways to scale success, and
strong organizational development practices to tether a team.

We provide a range of tailored support designed to help funded teams leverage these three success factors.

Our services include project kick-off support, group workshops, individualized coaching and strategy consulting services, and convenings such as the Pathways to Social Impact workshop. Funded teams are invited to lean into capacity-building support where needed, both at the individual project level and in community with others within SIL's portfolio.
