Forty percent of the world’s population does not have regular access to a clean, dignified place to go to the bathroom. New technologies that treat wastewater so that it is re-usable have the potential to improve access to sanitation by creating new revenue streams and addressing sustainability challenges. Professor Tarpeh’s research project will explore how to integrate new technologies into cost-effective, scalable, and sustainable sanitation solutions.
