Ted Egan

CHIEF ECONOMIST, CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO

Ted Egan has been the Chief Economist of the City and County of San Francisco since 2007. He and his team are charged with reporting to decision-makers and voters on the economic impact of major city legislation, and he has authored or co-authored over 125 reports, on virtually every major policy issue in San Francisco. Before joining the City, he managed economic development strategy projects for ICF International, with clients across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. He served on the Data Users Advisory Committee of the Bureau of Labor Statistics from 2019 to 2023.
