Inequalities in educational opportunities have long run consequences for individuals’ flourishing, as well as for a thriving society. One of the great sources of educational inequality is students’ lack of access to adults in schools who know them well, build trust and motivation, and can target instruction and educational experiences to accelerate learning and improve overall well-being, especially when students struggle. Professor Loeb is working with partners at the state and school district level to develop scalable models of relationship-based personalized instruction.
