Artificial intelligence is reshaping scientific research, but early adoption patterns suggest its benefits are uneven across age, discipline, geography, gender, and race. These gaps do more than disadvantage individual researchers; they risk narrowing the questions pursued, weakening idea exchange, and slowing collective progress. Professor Althoff’s project will seek to address potential biases that may emerge with the increased use of AI in scientific research.
