Transmission rates and patterns of vector-born disease are influenced by factors such as climate and human behavior, which fluctuate in important ways over time. These factors introduce complexities for governments, NGOs and pharmaceutical companies seeking to better understand the impacts of disease on society, and to mitigate infection. Professor Seetah will work with partners to develop new models of malaria transmission which seek to take these sociological and climatic considerations into account, providing more accurate predictors of infection rates and improving the impact of prevention approaches.
Krish Seetah's Design Fellowship is sponsored by the Doerr School of Sustainability.
