Residential segregation: Racial residential segregation persists and is a key structural barrier to racial equality. The socioeconomic upgrading of urban neighborhoods could reduce segregation but is currently displacing residents, reducing housing affordability, and disrupting communities. How can we reduce segregation and ensure that gentrification does not exacerbate racial segregation and inequality?
