Supporting Haida Nation sovereignty: Logging practices on Haida Gwaii, British Columbia not only impact forest ecosystems, they also affect the land and cultural sovereignty of the Indigenous Haida Nation. Using remote sensing, Ireland plans to work in partnership with the Haida Nation to support old growth forest conservation policies across the archipelago and strengthen existing Indigenous land management efforts.
