Improving teachers’ racial socialization practices: Teachers often find it challenging to respond effectively when race-related issues arise in their classrooms, which can negatively affect students' academic performance, sense of belonging, and psychological well-being. Emma will work with middle school teachers to better understand teachers’ racial socialization practices and develop tools that better prepare teachers to engage in racial dialogues with their students.
