David D. Laitin is the James T. Watkins IV and Elise V. Watkins Professor of Political Science at Stanford University. He has conducted extensive research in comparative politics with a focus on the intersections of language and religion in nation-state dynamics. Laitin has authored several influential books and collaborated on key studies related to ethnicity, civil wars, and international terrorism.
