Alyce S. Adams is an associate director of Stanford Impact Labs where she provides overall leadership and strategic guidance, with a special focus on health equity and transdisciplinary collaboration. She is a health services and policy researcher seeking to understand and address disparities in chronic disease treatment outcomes among older adults. Her ongoing studies leverage big data and advanced analytic methods to identify and address modifiable determinants of suboptimal treatment outcomes.
She is the Stanford Medicine Innovation Professor, a Professor at the Stanford School of Medicine in the Departments of Epidemiology and Population Health, Health Policy, and (by courtesy) Pediatrics, as well as the Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement at the Stanford Cancer Institute. Dr. Adams is engaged in several multi-institutional networks that foster transdisciplinary research collaboration and translation, including the NIDDK funded Diabetes Research for Equity through Advanced Multilevel Science (DREAMS) Center for Diabetes Translational Research, the NIA-funded AGING Initiative, and AcademyHealth. She enjoys exploring Bay Area restaurants with friends and family, traveling with her husband, reading mystery novels and bargain shopping.
