Allisa's research is focused on understanding and improving sanitation and drinking water systems in rural disadvantaged communities in the U.S. She approaches these challenges through the lenses of infrastructure, social, and economic considerations to develop better technical and policy solutions. She has conducted research into urban water-energy systems and examined opportunities for adoption of non-potable water reuse on a municipal scale.
