Increasing equity in parenting: Early childhood education is often viewed as the responsibility of mothers, limiting fathers’ involvement and reinforcing unequal caregiving norms. Sahana will partner with a grassroots education initiative in India to test behavioral interventions that encourage greater paternal participation in early learning. By exploring how social identity and targeted nudges shape fathers’ engagement, the project aims to shift parenting norms, reduce the motherhood penalty, and improve educational outcomes for children.
