School and student characteristics, such as location, socioeconomic status, race, gender and disabilities, hugely influence the extent to which different children in low-resource settings can access quality education.
Most governments allocate significant resources to mitigate educational inequalities without the quality data needed to target them effectively. Professor Lichand will collaborate with partners in Brazil to help collect the data necessary to identify baseline inequalities along those dimensions and track how they respond to different educational policies.
Guilherme Lichand’s Design Fellowship is sponsored by the Stanford Institute for Advancing Just Societies.
