Andrés Felipe Rodríguez
IMPACT AND LEARNING MANAGER
Andres Felipe Rodriguez is the Impact and Learning Manager at Stanford Impact Labs. In this role, Andres collaborates with the Investments & Accountability team to develop and implement an impact measurement strategy, ensuring SIL’s diverse portfolio is on track to improve lives at scale. He also leverages data and evidence to support the initiative’s investment strategy.
Prior to joining SIL, Andres completed his Ph.D. in Economics at Stanford and was a SIL PhD Fellow in 2023. His research focused on understanding how governments in low-income countries can enhance their capacity to implement more effective social and economic policy.
Andres' work mainly involved coordinating primary data collection and using quantitative causal inference methods to evaluate policy reforms on topics such as informal taxation, political selection of leaders, and the decentralization of infrastructure spending. This research was done in collaboration with political parties, civil society, and customary leaders in Sierra Leone, and with the government of Zambia as part of Decentralization with Guardrails, a project which received Stage 2 funding from SIL in 2023.
Andres holds a BA and MA in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia and has conducted research about Colombia on topics including entrepreneurship and socio-economic diversity in higher education. Outside of work, he enjoys playing beach volleyball, dancing Salsa and Merengue, experimenting with his pour-over coffee recipe, and seeing live music.
