Earth Observation in Support of Sustainable and Equitable Forest Management Despite multibillion-dollar investments in fuel treatments to manage forests, access to resources and tools for reducing wildfire risk remains unequal across socioeconomic groups. As a member of Stanford’s Global Ecology and Climate Solutions Lab, Amber plans to work with government agencies responsible for forest and fire management, as well as with underrepresented high fire-risk communities, to integrate scientific knowledge on fuel treatment effectiveness and social equity into decision-making and implementation in California.
