Alex Andrade

Alex Andrade has been a public servant for 25 years throughout the state of California. As the Director of Economic Development for the City of Milpitas, he focuses on building strong relationships with the corporate and real estate communities and the residents of Milpitas. Alex previously served as the Economic Development Manager for the City of Mountain View and worked for the largest redevelopment agencies in California (in San Jose, Los Angeles, and San Francisco) in project management. He also served as a Program Officer at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) leading their Regional Planning portfolio.

Fellowship Project: Understanding the impact of a new rental assistance program for low-income households whereby 50 households will receive $645 per month for a total of 24 months. Data collection and analysis during this project will contribute to staff recommendations about program implementation, and future programs and policies focused on housing security.
