Jonne Kamphorst is Assistant Professor of Political Science and Quantitative Social Science Methods at Sciences Po (Paris Institute of Political Studies). Previously, Kamphorst was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford's Politics and Social Change Lab and the Department of Computer Science, as well as at the European University Institute (EUI).
He studies the politics and societies of advanced democracies, focusing on the origins of contemporary political divisions and how democracy can be strengthened by re-engaging voters and bridging political divides. He also studies the use of large language models in social-scientific research methods and is particularly interested in the use of LLMs to simulate experimental effects and human behavior.
