Marcella Alsan is the Anne and Ned Lamont Professor of International Studies and Professor of Economics at Stanford University, where she directs the Health Inequality Lab and serves as a Faculty Scholar at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. A physician-economist and applied microeconomist, her research focuses on health inequality, examining disparities in health outcomes and access to care. She received a 2021 MacArthur Fellowship for her contributions to health economics and inequality research.
