Auditing chatbot recommendation biases
When people ask AI chatbots for recommendations — which insurance plan to buy, which product to choose, which service to use — there's little transparency about whether those suggestions are neutral or systematically favor certain companies or viewpoints. Andy will partner with a leading German consumer protection organization to develop tools for auditing how chatbot recommendations shift depending on how a question is asked, who is asking, and what product category is involved. The findings will give consumer advocates and regulators the evidence they need to hold AI systems accountable.
