Stanford Profile

Department: Global Environmental Policy & Earth System Science

Across large swaths of the world, the weather conditions during a particular year’s agricultural growing season greatly impacts food supply, income and nutritional status. These weather conditions are becoming less predictable as the climate warms. Professor Burney will engage with governments and civil society organizations to better address the impact of seasonality (and changes in seasonality) on agricultural productivity, food and nutrition security, and economic development.
