Duncan is the executive director of Stanford's Immigration Policy Lab (IPL) and a Senior Research Scholar at Stanford University. He also served as the founding executive director of IPL at Stanford from 2014-2022. Duncan has worked directly with immigrants, nonprofits, and foundations in various roles from medical interpreter to researcher. Prior to joining IPL, he co-founded a Colorado-based data analysis and research-consulting firm that provided services to major foundations and nonprofits. He has led research teams and projects in the U.S. and throughout Latin America. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Innovation for the Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration department at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where he established the department’s first innovation agenda.
